REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) successfully transferred its project-specific special purpose vehicle (SPV), Musalgaon Power Transmission, to the Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company (MSETCL) on September 9, 2026. MSETCL secured the project following its selection as the winning bidder through a competitive process.
Valued at approximately Rs 560 crore, the transmission initiative focuses on upgrading Maharashtra's electrical framework and boosting grid reliability. Primary infrastructure deliverables feature a new 220/132/33 kV Air Insulated Substation (AIS) located in Musalgaon, alongside comprehensive auxiliary transmission works.
Ultimately, the development is engineered to expand regional grid capacity, optimize power connectivity, and ensure a dependable electricity supply throughout the state.
